Philennials (Philippine Millennials), as they are nowadays called are always on the go and that might be the reason why they tend to forget to take good care of themselves. With too much pollution exposure and the humidity in the air, Philennials have to deal with constantly dry skin. As simple as it may seem, washing our faces should not be neglected.
Splashing it with water out of the faucet might not be a good way to wash your face. We have to make sure that our face is clean, toned, and moisturized before putting makeup or getting into bed. Our skin rejuvenates naturally when we sleep.
1. Remember to wash your face with lukewarm water and a cream based cleanser. Warm water lifts the dirt out of your skin. I said warm, not hot water. Hot water can dry your skin. Cream cleansers hydrate our skin. When removing make-up, use a gel cleanser and/or a makeup remover instead. After washing, use a towel and dab it on your face. Never rub. Rubbing stretches our skin and can lead to wrinkling of the skin.
2. Get a cotton ball and dip it in toner and use it generously around your face, most especially if you have an oily face.
3. Serums are green juices for the skin and must be applied at least twice daily. It should be applied to the skin after cleansing and toning. If you have sunscreen, put sunscreen over the serum applied portions of your face in the morning and later at night, replace the serum with a moisturizer.
Use one or two serum pumps for your face. Most serums are available over the counter or in supermarkets in Metro Manila. Serums are a great way to address any specific issues you have with your skin, because these products are almost for everything: anti-aging, moisturizing, redness, etc.
