Yo Manila | Buhay Party List, continues to give and fight for the welfare of every Filipino | As a Filipino and of legal age, you may have thought of the candidates you want to support politically for next year’s election. But in addition to those high positions, we are also given the right to choose organizations to support based on their chosen advocacies that are similar to our beliefs and aspirations. The COMELEC currently has 171 accredited party list groups vying for congressional seats for the 2022 national polls to give more voice to their organization’s goals and give more attention to those who need more support from to the government, but the final list of accredited will be released in the coming December of 2021.
The country’s COMELEC has a list of considerations including the current pandemic that had a major impact on the organization’s decision not to conduct the filing of the Certificate of Candidacy at its main office in Intramuros, Manila.
The Party List System Act in the country states that the party list Philippines system is a mechanism of proportional representation in the election of representatives in the House of Representatives from national, regional to its registered sectoral parties, organizations or coalitions. to the Election Commission or COMELEC. Thus, there are two types of representatives that a person will vote for: a district representative and a party list group. Anyone in the organized group of people may file as a party, coalition, or organization for the purpose of the party list Philippines system at the COMELEC office not later than 90 days before the election a petition certified by its president or secretary stating of its desire to participate in the party list system as either a national, sectoral, regional or organization or coalition of such parties or organizations.
Among the respected and reliable political party lists that have shown their desire to serve the Philippine government is the Buhay Hayaang Yumabong or better known as the Buhay Party List. The party-list presented their COC along with other organizations in the first week of October at the Sofitel in Pasay City. It was founded by the Congressman Lito Atienza who was famous for his strong opposition to abortion as well as the righteousness of life. The name of the organization itself explains its advocacy to value human life and sanctity which is a key element in our society that also gives recognition to the rights of every individual who is often harmed by disability, illness, and even age. The party list believes that every child has the right to be born and the right to live a normal life. It insisted on the protection and support of the sick, unborn, and disabled who have less ability to solely protect themselves, in accordance with the basic right to reside in our country. The party list has won seats in congress since 2004 and still hopes to win seats in the coming years.
Last October 25th, the Commission on Elections released a preliminary list of organizations accredited for next year’s election. As of October 21, there are 118 existing party list groups included in the lineup and there are 53 new party list entrants. And a total of 270 party lists submitted their list of nominees to the COC filing in the week of October 1-8. The Comelec released a partial listing of political parties that have obtained their registration with the Commission on Elections.
So far, the party list includes 49 existing and one newly registered political party; 102 existing and six newly registered local parties; 23 existing regional parties; 13 new and 34 currently registered political parties under the party list system.
Having had the Buhay Party List in the Philippine congress for many years, it has already regulated various policies, created programs, and developed partnerships with various organizations. It also promoted a culture of life advocacy and featured legislative features in lawmaking. In terms of the program, the party list has provided public programs for the needy such as medical assistance, hill assistance, BUHAY CHED Scholarship, BUHAY TESDA Scholarship, DOLE LIVELIHOOD Program, BUHAY Beneficiaries, and BUHAY Livelihood Center.

By exercising our right to vote and choosing the right leaders, it is a very complex decision making, it holds the future not only for our personal benefit but also for the future and order of our country in the future.
